We were traveling across the country to get our son home from college, so despite the fact that travel is discouraged right now, it was necessary. We had requested a room facing the river but were denied. Surely due to COVID-19 and looking at the parking lot, there were plenty of available rooms. The outside entrance was littered with cigarette butts. Despite the beautiful lobby, it smelled old and musty all the way from the elevator, to the hallways, the the room itself. The elevator was dirty-there had been something that splashed on the stainless steel part of the elevator that could easily be wiped off. The floor in front of the elevators in the ground and second floor needed to be swept and mopped. The room appeared clean but upon wiping down common surfaces with a Lysol wipe, the wipe was clearly soiled. A chair was heavily soiled and the coffee pot broken. There was also something left in a drawer by another guest. Ick! There were greasy fingerprints on the window seal and a film in the mirrors. The facilities appear to be heavily used, but it can still be cleaned properly. Comfortable, affordable, easy access to downtown. Wonderful, helpful staff staff. Great barrestaurant-staff are friendly and accommodating. Hotel was busy, but had quiet sleep. Love coming back every summer for family reunion. For a tourist trip, a weekend getaway, a business trip, we will be there to meet all your expectations. A stroke of heart guaranteed!
